“Transforming Numeracy Outcomes through Multisensory Learning “.
In acknowledging learning differences, research confirms that maths instruction must incorporate all learning styles and combine visual, auditory and kinesthetic interactions that are paced according to the student’s integration and understanding.
With a vision to transform Australia’s numeracy outcomes through providing educators with a multi-sensory and research-based methodology, Esther’s presentation will be informative, interactive and full of “lightbulb” moments. Using just three (3) manipulatives, participants will see and experience the ease of teaching place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percents and algebra through a simple and effective “build-write-say” methodology.
Seminar participants will walk away with renewed excitement at the ease and fun of teaching maths “concrete to abstract” and according to the way students learn.
